THE ART OF COLLABORATION

In November 2019 we hosted our first homegrown event at the house. Themed around the Art of Collaboration and aimed at the creative community, we were joined by a sell-out crowd ready to talk, debate and discuss how we can do bigger and better things when we work together.

Host and the first guest speaker of the Fireside Talk series Andy Walmsley tells more.

We’ve been wanting to open up the house for an event like this for a long time. Lynsey (Co-Founder of the Artistry House) and I feel so proud of what we’ve created with the house that it’s always amazing to see the space come to life at events, filled with lively discussion, new and familiar faces.

Collaborative working is so important to me in my day-to-day as Creative Director of Wash Studio that it was a bit of a no-brainer to choose this as the first theme in what will hopefully be the first of many of these events at the house.

The idea was to break out of the stuffy networking mould to create something much more organic - building real networks within our creative community by giving people a chance to meet and talk to some of the north’s most passionate individuals.

Kicking off with an exploration of the house, we encouraged everyone to move freely between the rooms, coming back together again in the Lounge for more structured talks at set times throughout the evening.
